THE SUGAR MOMMAS would love to invite you to join their Sugar Sugar Community. Momma Reiner's Fudge is based on an old family recipe. Now we'd like to share your recipes! Dust off the recipe box - gather those loose pieces of paper with family favorites. Participate in our new project and share your family legacy with the Sugar Mommas!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
As we travel around we are always learning about other traditions and family recipes. The Sugar Mommas realized that people want to share their childhood memories of cooking in the kitchen. Sharing a recipe is sharing your family history through cooking. Of course the most fun stories and traditions always include SUGAR!

FAMILY FOLKLORE
The Sugar Mommas are looking for recipes and the family legacy behind them. This is a perfect opportunity to ask your relative, dear friend, postmaster, school principle, caretaker, to share a recipe and to capture the most important part...the story. We want to know when Grandma Gertrude made her strudel, what time of year? Was it for a special occasion, e.g. birthday, holiday, back to school, or start of summer? What are the memories that surround the springtime delicacy or summer fruit tart? We want you to bring Auntie’s legacy to life, through her recipe!

GUIDELINES FOR A SUGAR MOMMAS RECIPE SUBMISSION

  2. Tell us the story behind the recipe. Please bring your recipe to life! Where did the recipe come from? Tell us who made it-Grandma Sally Smith? Uncle George Peter? Where did your relative live (not limited to the U.S.)? What time of year was the recipe made? Was it in conjunction with a special occasion?

After graduating law school together, Kimberly and Jenna went off to practice law…for a while. Then Kimberly became a fudge queen while Jenna became a rock star. After having two delicious sons, in 2005 Kimberly "Momma" Reiner started a cottage industry – Momma Reiner’s Fudge – which was recently featured as one of Oprah's Favorite Things. Also, Kimberly has appeared on The Martha Stewart Show, making her fudge right alongside Martha. Jenna has been the lead singer of all female rock group Vixen since 2001. Recently, Jenna became a mom with the birth of her scrumptious son. After many years, Jenna and Kimberly hooked up over a love of sugar and became the Sugar Mommas: life's too short to not be sweet!
